Mining Diesel Fuel Cleanliness Monitoring (ISO 4406)
Remote, dusty sites and huge bulk volumes punish haul-truck injectors. Trendfuel monitors mining diesel with live ISO 4406 data, paired with high-flow single-pass filtration from our strategic partner DieselPure — viewable anywhere on earth.
The problem
Abrasive dust, bulk volumes, and injectors that don't forgive dirty fuel.
Mining is the harshest environment stored diesel ever sees — and the fuel system is the least forgiving.
Remote mine sites combine constant airborne dust with enormous bulk fuel volumes and long storage times. Abrasive particulate settles into stored diesel and is drawn straight into haul-truck injectors and high-pressure pumps, where particles in the 4–70 µm range cause rapid wear, lost power and unplanned downtime. Replacing a single haul-truck injection set is expensive; a fleet-wide contamination event is a production crisis. Tank-level telematics never see it coming — they measure volume, not cleanliness. And because mine sites are often far from fixed internet, getting live fuel-quality data off-site has historically been hard. Uptime is the whole game, and dirty diesel is a direct threat to it.
Dust & bulk storage
Abrasive airborne dust and huge stored volumes load diesel with particulate that settles and degrades over long storage times.
Injectors & pumps at risk
4–70 µm particles tear through haul-truck injectors and high-pressure pumps — rapid wear, lost power, costly rebuilds.
Remote connectivity gaps
Sites far from fixed internet make live fuel-quality data hard to get off-site — until now.
The solution
High-flow single-pass filtration + live ISO 4406, viewable anywhere.
Trendfuel is built for the field. Single-pass SAE J1488:2010 filtration from our strategic partner DieselPure cleans bulk diesel in line at flow rates from 40 to over 2000 L/min, taking stored fuel from an ISO 4406 of 22/20/14 to 9/6/0 in a single pass — fast enough to keep haul-truck fueling moving. Trendfuel's laser particle counters stream the live ISO 4406 code (4–70 µm) to a secure cloud dashboard at sub-3-second latency, and because remote sites rarely have fixed internet, Trendfuel runs over satellite (including Starlink), LoRaWAN, IoT SIM or 5G/LTE/3G so the data is viewable from anywhere in the world. Warning and limit alarms fire over email and SMS, with optional dispensing lockout to stop contaminated fuel reaching the fleet.

Proof
1.2 million litres a week, in the Pilbara.
At a remote Pilbara mining operation in Australia, Trendfuel analyses roughly 1.2 million litres of diesel every week with live ISO 4406 monitoring, paired with single-pass filtration from our strategic partner DieselPure — part of over 1 million litres of fuel monitored every week since 2020. We even run a live demo from a Brazil haul-truck site, so you can watch dirty supplier fuel cleaned to spec by DieselPure in real time.
- Live ISO 4406 particle counting, 4–70 µm
- High-flow single-pass filtration, 40–2000+ L/min
- Satellite (incl. Starlink), LoRaWAN, IoT SIM and 5G/LTE/3G connectivity
- Secure cloud dashboard viewable anywhere
- email and SMS alarms
- Optional fuel dispensing lockout when fuel is not clean and suitable for use, avoiding costly equipment damage
- 22/20/14 → 9/6/0 in a single pass
